| Time |
About 40 minutes |
| Advantages |
Kids usually like comics. This comic is written in a way to help students remember the rhythm inherent
in the grammar. |
| Disadvantages |
The comic and worksheet don't cover the 'question' form of the language. |
Preparation - Part 1
- Read the comic with the students and check understanding.
- Practice the main grammar points using the worksheet and the flash cards. The grammar point for part 1 is...
Student A: What's important for you?
Student B: It's important for me to drink special Budja juice.
- Hand out the game cards and ask students to cut out their own set.
Notes on Game Cards: One printed sheet is enough for 8 students. To minimise time and work for all, I use a paper guillotine to
cut off the margins and cut the sheet into strips for individual students. It doesn't take long for them to then make the cards.
Game - Part 1
- Students make pairs and sit opposite each other with their note books.
- Pairs play Rock Paper Scissors.
- The winner (student A) uses a notebook to hide their worksheet and places their cards in the boxes on the worksheet.
- Using the target language, student B asks questions to find out where student A has put their cards.
- Student A, of course, answers using the target language.
- When they are finished, they swap and play again.
- Easy
Preparation - Part 2
- Practice the main grammar points using the worksheet and the flash cards. The grammar point for part 2 is...
Student A: Is it important for you to drink special Budja juice?
Student B: Yes, it is. / No, it isn't.
- Use the same worksheet and game cards as part 1.
Game - Part 2
- Exactly the same as for part 1 only with new target language.
- Students make pairs and sit opposite each other with their note books.
- Pairs play Rock Paper Scissors.
- The winner (student A) uses a notebook to hide their worksheet and places their cards in the boxes on the worksheet.
