Level	Beginner
Age	This course is for 12-13 year olds, but of course any age is OK if the level is right.
Number of Players	This is a whole class activity.

Time	This depends on your teaching style and the level of your class. It is possible to extend this lesson out to 50 minutes.
Advantages	The comic demonstrates both a formal and informal style of greeting.
Disadvantages	There are of course many other variations of greetings. It is up to the teacher to teach what is natural language and extend upon the comic. Please read my thoughts on What Is A Greeting.

Demonstrate simple language to use when meeting someone for the first time.
Using volunteers from the class, demonstrate body language and gesture, handshakes etc.
Students practice for 3 minutes.
Pick 2 students randomly and ask them to do a demonstration.
Change the meeting language and repeat.
Move through formal and casual meetings and greetings as the class progresses.
Use the comic when you feel it's appropriate. I teach page 1 and page 2 at different stages of the lesson.
The first page of this comics represents and fairly formal greeting in English.
The second page represents a fairly casual greeting.

Make it fun, it's pretty boring language on it's own.
I give all students who participate in demonstrations or performances stickers as prizes.
I give out numbers to all of the students which they swap after each time they practice a greeting (or meeting). I call out these numbers randomly to select the students who will perform the conversation in front of the class.
Clap and carry on like it's a game show.

Greeting tip - Nobody likes to shake a wet hand.
